WHEN THEY'RE STUCK
Common blockers and what to do
This is the most critical 5-minute conversation you can have. Don't message, call them. Ask one question: "what's getting in the way?" Almost always the answer is one of three: they're scared of the website, they don't know who to sell to, or they don't have time this week.
For each: walk them through the order screen on a video call, sit with them on the first-10-customers exercise, or set a smaller goal (one product, one friend, this week). Don't accept "I'll get to it" as an answer.
Almost always one of two reasons: they tried to sell to strangers and got rejected, or they feel embarrassed selling to friends. Both are solvable.
Reframe the conversation: Avon isn't about selling, it's about sharing products you'd recommend anyway. Ask them which Avon product they actually like. Start there. One genuine recommendation to one friend usually brings the confidence back.
Silence after week 2 usually means embarrassment, not loss of interest. Change channel. If you've been using WhatsApp, try a voice note. If voice note, try a 1-minute video. The format change breaks the silence pattern.
Keep the message lightweight: "Thinking of you. No pressure. If you want a 10-minute chat about anything, I'm here." Two of three reps respond to that.
Normal in month 1. A problem if it's still true in month 3. The bridge from "friends and family" to broader selling is social and digital, not cold outreach.
Coach them on putting their online shop URL into their social bio, posting one product story a week, and sharing the digital brochure with a wider WhatsApp circle. The transition needs to feel like extending their existing network, not making cold calls.
The online shop only works if people know it exists. Three checks:
1. Is the URL in their social bio? Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp status. If no, fix today.
2. Are they posting at least once a week? Product story, before-and-after, day-in-the-life reel. Anything that links back to the shop.
3. Have they told their existing customers the shop exists? A single broadcast WhatsApp to existing buyers can double shop traffic overnight.

RETENTION SUPERPOWER
Public recognition keeps new reps showing up
When you celebrate a new rep's first order, first sales threshold reached within the month, or order with VIP discount in your broader Rep team channel, retention shoots up. New reps stay because they feel seen.
Five low-effort, high-impact moments to celebrate publicly: first order placed, first 10 customers, New rep gift achieved, and first VIP order value.
Use the Rep team WhatsApp group, a story on your status, or a 30-second voice note. Format doesn't matter. Frequency does.
